Accessing Your Detailed Web Site Access Statistics

LFC Hosting offers nightly Web site statistical traffic analysis for all of your domain names. This feature is included free with your hosting plan, but needs to be activated on a per domain basis. Web site access statistics can be activated on your entire account, or individual domain names, through the Log Administration area of your Control Panel (Click on Logs in the navigation menu).

Two analysis and reporting software packages are available:

1. AWStats: Generates advanced graphical representations of your website access statistics, displaying all possible analysis in just a few web pages. For details, see a sample report.

2. Webalizer: Produces detailed, configurable HTML reports representing website access statistics that are viewable in legacy web browsers. For details, see a sample report.

Your entire account, or individual domain names, can be configured to use AWStats, Webalizer or both products if you prefer.

Within 24 hours of activation, your new reports will be available under the "Log Reports Available" heading in the Log Administration area.

Note: Detailed Web Site Access Statistics are created from your raw HTTP log files. These files log every hit to your website, and can grow to become quite large. More than likely you will never need to access your raw log files; therefore, in the interest of saving the Disk Space included with your account, they are purged as often as once per week.

IMPORTANT: However, should you wish to maintain your raw HTTP log files for use with the alternate Web site traffic analysis software they must be downloaded to your own computer. LFC Hosting offers a free log archiving service to automatically save your old raw log files in your account for this purpose. You can enable or disable "Log Archiving" for either your entire account, or individual domain names, through the Log Administration area of your Control Panel.

Your archived log files are copied to the logs_archive directory of your account. Note that these large files do count against your Disk Space quota; therefore, should you choose to enable "Log Archiving", it is important that you frequently download them to your own computer over FTP, then delete them from your account. This will help ensure that you do not receive any extra Disk Space usage charges on your next LFC invoice.
